Le village de vacances Rives des Corbières à Port-Leucate voit le jour en 1972 dans le cadre de la Mission Racine. Ce grand projet visait à développer un tourisme balnéaire moderne en Occitanie. Imaginé par l’architecte visionnaire Georges Candilis, figure du mouvement moderniste, le village de vacances adopte les codes de l’architecture méditerranéenne.
Volumes en escalier, lignes épurées, patios lumineux et intégration harmonieuse entre mer et étang façonnent son identité. Pensé dès l’origine comme un lieu accessible, simple et fonctionnel, il propose une nouvelle manière de vivre la mer. Familles, associations, CE et scolaires y profitent d’un environnement préservé, loin du béton uniforme, à Port-Leucate.
